Kukri, how exactly would that be a perfect solution to someone frightened of dogs?
It will help her get over her fear of dogs.

She just have to look for an excuse to taser that dog and i promise you not even with the command of his owner, that dog will lay down and cover his face whenever he sees her.

If you are frightened of dogs, then you already have it made up in your head that you can die from the dogs, that your scared and etc. Perfect thing to do is changing your thoughts about the dogs. In my eyes, Nabella is doing the right thing by starting this thread, and looking for more information that would help her build her confidence and better understand the situations she is getting into.

You can give her walking stick to help build her confidence when around loose dogs. But better alternative is a huge exposure, like running into a pack of big beefy dogs, all by her self. :P

I'm terrified of dogs :( :( (especially pitbulls, they are just scary looking). It wasn't an issue before, but now my new neighbour has a dog, and I noticed he only barks at black people and tries to bit them, so any solutions to overcome this fear :|
DOGS ARE COLOURED-BLIND
DUHH! they can still see whites and blacks.

Nabeela, speak to them in af soomaali, dogs are terrified by the sound of soomaali, once my eedo came across a dog just outside her front door soon as she started to shout ''WAAR EEYAHOOOW KIR'' the poor dog ran away fast, like no other dog has ever run as fast and shyt scared.

Somalis don't know them, and most of us never lived with a dog. Those of us who are not "afraid" of dogs, are still not totally comfortable around them. We just don't like them very much. We much prefer cats. Dogs are creepy. ;-)

Not to make you any more worried than you are, consider the possibility of having the same challenge( fear of a dog with owner) to face after you have moved to new place. I would definitely encourage you to face it. Overcoming your fear will have more to do with you socializing with the said dog. Your biggest hurdle will be controlling you fear. It's been said that dogs can sense fear, and it makes them agitated and some dogs will become more aggressive when they sense someone is afraid of them, so relax and notice the owner don't die. Take little steps and eventually with persistence you will be able to interact with a lot of dogs..... when your ready for the really big step; see if there is an off leash dog park in your area, there will be dogs of all sizes running around. The majority of them will be very social and friendly.

Good luck, walaashis. Hope you get over your phobia.
