Everybody should look at this (Eritrea policy on Somalia)

Postby Coeus » Mon Jan 31, 2011 5:24 pm

US: Jonny carson intimidating Eritrean top official called "yemane". Read what they have to say about Somalia. This shit was top secret rated

** A/S Carson opened the meeting by expressing USG's desire to improve the bilateral relationship with the GSE and urged Eritrea to stop immediately from playing a spoiler role in Somalia by proving financial and logistical assistance to al-Shabaab.

** Yemane welcomed Carson's offer for a renewed relationship and said it is long overdue. He then firmly denied providing support to al-Shabaab and said the GSE is playing a constructive role in Somalia. In response, A/S Carson stated, "We categorically reject that you are innocent and believe you are the supplier of resources going into the hands of al-Shabaab." He directly linked Eritrea to al-Shabaab's success in Somalia, and called on Eritrea to cease supporting violent extremists, not only in perception but in reality, if a reinvigorated and positive bilateral relationship with the U.S. is truly a priority for the GSE. "The choice is yours. The only thing we can do is encourage you to do the right thing," Carson added. In response, Yemane and FM Osman Saleh continued Eritrea's longstanding denial of GSE support of al-Shabaab. The FM further retorted that linking Eritrea to al-Shaabab is unacceptable.

** Yemane defined the GSE's objective as creating a strong, unified Somali state, then faulted Ethiopia for dividing Somalia. Yemane insisted the only way forward was to establish an all-inclusive (including Somaliland and Puntland), Somali-driven dialogue supported by the international community. He asserted that all other methods have failed. Yemane criticized the Djibouti talks for not allowing other Somali political players to accompany TFG President Sheikh Sharif to the meetings. By lending its support to Sheikh Sharif, he claimed the international community was sending the wrong message. This message, he stated, encouraged Sheikh Sharif to pursue a military option rather than negotiate with opposition. Yemane called AMISOM a "weak peacekeeping force" that will not succeed without the support of all protagonists in Somalia. A/S Carson rejected Yemane's analysis, accused the Eritreans of not supporting a more inclusive Somali process and challenged the GSE to help build an all-inclusive dialogue within the TFG framework.

** Carson closed the meeting by encouraging the GSE to speak out against al-Shabaab, end its support for Somali extremists and move forward with constructive actions. Yemane replied, "We will be constructive. Regardless of our relationship with the United States, Somalia is very important to us and we will work toward a peaceful solution."

Agree totally.

But as we see here. Eritrea wants what we Somalis want. A strong unified Somali state. While Ethiopia wants us divided (not as countries) but different political views.

Neverthenless, eritrea believes by supporting al shabab they are unifing all of Somalia. Well thats the problem, Al shabab must not come to power. I totally understand now what they are trying to do.

They want to have a strong Somalia by their side in a region where Ethiopia is a enemy. :?

They just dont give a fuck who comes to power, as long as all Somalai is united and is against Ethiopia.

Saaxib if we bordered Eritrea and they supported Al shabab, why would shabab attack them? :?

The thing is, that Somalia has unfinished business with Ethiopia, and lets face it emperior the xabashis are the reason gaalo are on our back all the time. I will support the US in this decision since i rather see a TFG then Al shabab in power. But after peace comes, i hope real election starts because when we get real leadership inshallah Eritrea will be our temporary friend. Against Ethiopia.

They have a hate for ethiopia so great that they are supporting ONLF. Their Hate benefits us saaxib.

Just as our hate in the 70´s benefited them when we supported their movements

Wouldn't it be easier for Eriteria to Increase support to ONLF and OLF instead of wasting effort on Shabab?

As for Ethiopia their only concern is to keep their fragile federation intact. All their actions are out of self preservation and their policy in the region is reflective of that objective.

Zone 2: Afar
Zone 11: Tigray

If Ethiopia fractured would these two zone join with eriteria or not? Since the same tribes also live in Eriteria.

Why would alshabaab not attack Eritrea if we did border them they will claim they will fight the christian regime and help the Muslim Eritreans loool.

Eritrea does not really care for Somalis they just want to use u to fight against their Ethiopian habesha cousins. But sometimes i think this can all be a play Melez and isiyas were best allies they are both Tigrayans back in the days melez allowed Eritrea to break away Amhaara the real Ethiopians were pissed about this. Melez does not support Eritrean Opposition in his country thats why i think melez does not want Eritrea to be hurt :o Habesha supremacy in the horn And destroy the Somalis against each other :o

^ Conspiracy 101

Isiyeh and Melez Cook up the perfect scheme to occupy their people so that they may never have the opportunity to question their authority because there is a bigger demon to project the collective negative energy of the masses.

Shariff and Ina Godane have the same agreement from the look of things... strategy to extort the larges donations from the gobe.

Faroole and the Pirates have the same agreement.

Sillanyo and the international community have the Ictiraaf begging bowl... here is 10million dollars Siilanyo now ne silent about ictiraaf from another year.
