South africa promises Somalia: No somalis will be killed

Postby Coeus » Wed Feb 02, 2011 8:33 am

The Somali government has profoundly discussed with a high delegation from South Africa to the Somali capital Mogadishu about the mistreatment of Somalis who have fled to South African after the 21 years of anarchy in Somalia.

“Mr. Abdirashid Mohamed Hidig who is the vice minister for the ministry of Social Affairs and Labour met with the South African delegation and deeply discussed with them about the mistreatment of the Somalis in South Africa by their fellow African in the south of the African continent” said Hassan Omar an officer in the deputy minister’s office.

Mr. Hassan has added that the South African delegation has pledged that once they safely step in South Africa dealing with the case of the Somalia will be one of their major priorities.

The other point which the two sides discussed over is how to strengthen the capacity of the employees of the different Somali government institutions.

South Africa is among the countries in African where Somalis have poured into their hundreds, after the collapse of the last effective regime in Somalia in the year 1991, but have faced rough time and great challenges, such killings, torturing, looting and other abuses.

And this is the first South African delegation officially from South Africa to Somalia.
