The security forces of Puntland seize 15 terrorists

Postby Coeus » Wed Feb 02, 2011 10:23 am

The security forces of Somalia's semi-autonomous state of Puntland have taken more than 15 people into custody after search operations in the town of Galka'yo, the regional capital of Mudug region, an official said Wednesday.

Adam Nur Qaal, Puntland police officer in region, said the security forces conducted crackdowns ensuring the security of the town, saying that dozens of people, in connection with the assassination of Puntland's Mudug region attorney general, were arrested during the operations.

Mr. Qaal, who spoke to the local press, vowed that the search operations of ensuring the security and tranquility of Galka'yo would continue until such assassinations would not happen once again in the town.

Abdulkadir Jama', Puntland's attorney general of Mudug region was last week killed by unknown men armed with pistols in the center of Galka'yo town.

The assailants escaped from the spot immediately after the murder.
