Maybe they're not Christian after all. It could be that those guys 'protecting' them were in a state of impurity and decided not to pray. It could also be that there was no further room to pray or that they don't pray at all.

Just a thought.

You mean having no wudu, you go literally go to a clean wall and do Tayammum!.
Navy you can't do that, there a conditions to do tayammum, and using a wall isn't allowed. It must be done with pure Earth from the ground. Also, the conditions of having scarcity of water has to apply.

Considering the Copt's role in standing side by side with their fellow Egyptians, I cannot see a democracy allowing them to be oppressed again.

Ciyal & James:

It's a common error that many do including myself at times because when someone says Christian Coptics and Muslim Coptics referring to the Egypt's citizens, it is academically a correct term. Because Coptic does not refer to religion as many believe but by time people started to use it to reflect christians.

And James they always stood side by side, look back at the Egyptian Revolution of 1919 where I have read shiekhs and priests walked side by side with all other sectors of the society for months (non-violent protests) demanding Britian to leave.

The Egyptian reporters, doctors, professors etc on TV have been sounding so proud of being Egyptian in the past few days. I am happy for them but as a Somali I'm slightly jealous of their unity and their love for their country. But one day, inshallah.
