I have zero respect for people who use to support ICU but don't support Al-shabaab. Some say ICU didn't do suicidemissions but we all know that the first suicidemission in Somali History accured in 2006! Alshabaab is ten times better than ICU because of AS didn't run away to make 'Hadj' when Ethiopia responded to their threats and Alshabaab doesn't have the likes of Yalaxow, Qanyare and Indhocadde in their ranks.

Image
Aweys and Qanyare on the right

Image
Muuse suudi Yalaxow giving a back rub to Aweys and Indhocadde is enjoying a sandwich he stole from Shamso Nuur Axmed, a 54 year old widow with 3 children.

Only mooryaans consider this people mujahidiin
Quite a few differences between Al-shabaab and ICU

1- ICU had mass support in Xamar. The people joined them in their uprisining. Al-shabaab meanwhile does not have the support of many of the Mogadishu residents.

2- ICU had actual wadaads in their ranks. Wise men, who studied the diin and who didn't butcher the Shariica of Allah. Any movement that is strictly lead by Shabaab is dangerous

3- ICU were not khaariji in nature. They did not make takfir upon Muslims because they didn't implement the Shariica immediately. Heck, ICU only made takfiir upon CY after he brought the Axmaar, which shows that they were much more moderate

4- ICU did not believe that you could butcher hundreds of civilians if you could kill one-mini taghut. Heck, i remember caddow said that for the good of the mogadishu people, they shouldn't fight there when the axmaar come

5- ICU does not believe in Anwar awlaki manhaj, whichs states that non-combatants from enemy states cease to be non-combatants when their state attacks Somalia. This manhaj is khaariji in nature, and no evidence for this is found in any Fiqhi manual.

6- ICU weren't as harsh as Shabaab. ICU didn't go smashing any sufi grave they saw, as they new that dacwa first needs to be established. That's the difference between Shariica being implemented by little boys and actual wadaads

The similarities between ICU and Shabaab is that both enacated social reforms in the areas they control. They tried to clean up the streets and chased away the mooryans. I'm sure Kismaayo is doing well under their reign. I just object to the chaos they are spreading in Xamar. LEAVE the people of xamar alone. They don't want you.

And lastly, just because the sheikh hangs around muuse suudi and qanyare doesn't they're allies. I recall ICU kicking out the anti-terrior coalition that they were part of. And even if they were, there is a thing called strategical allies. Indhocadde for instance is Daahir awey's nephew, and he had control of good sized military. He was willing to help. Which retard would turn his support, given the above fact that Daahir aweys was there? The prophet saws accepted Abu sufyan's conversion, then he fought Jihaad for the Muslims. There's a thing called strategy sxb.

Dahhir aweys is a sheikh, and his fight for jihaad is known. He opposed Caydiid at his peak of his powers, fought Cabdullahi Yusuf and is known fighting Shariif (or was, AS sidelined him). He is a principled man, even if you detest him.

ICU was nothing without Al Shabab as its military wing. The only thing that changed was leadership obviously those ICU members that left to TFG were opportunists? Never the less their jihad against amxaaro & traitor AY was remarkable

Al-shabaab were mujaahids in their early days, but then adopted a khaariji manhaj. It has been down hill ever since. If they rent, and come to moderation again, they will have my support.

ICU members that left were not opportunists, but rather idealists and strategists.

melo,

I was a big supporter of the ICU, and everyone on this board used to tell me I was an idiot, and my own adeer was anti ICU because of this.

So here is a question, and no Hawiye person has been able to give me an answer, or just admit they were plain wrong,

Why would u skip the mooryaan in Afgooye and Wanlaweyn and take sharia to Buur Hakaba skip Marka and Baraawe, leave the mooryaan put and go to Kismaayo, to implement sharia?

I never claimed that the ICU were perfect. Every movement has its flaws. As for the situation you speak of, i cannot comment on things i don't know.

They were able to stablize and bring peace in Xamar. Any party that can do that has my support

Looking back, I wouldn't have changed my stance. In 2006 it was the right stance.

If AMISOM left, Al Shabaab would do that you speak of over night, yet you don't seem to support them

Well Amisom isn't leaving man. Seeing as how they aren't leaving, and AS cannot defeat them, the best option is an immediate cessation of violence.

Honestly and truthfully, i gave up long ago on a true Islamic party capturing the country and enacting real Islamic change immediately. Gaalada will not allow this to happen. Look what happened to the Ikhwaan in egypt. The ikhwaan now have realized that strategy is the way forward. Don't think for a second that Islamic reform is not on their agenda. They just put it on the back burner to appease the pundits. You need to educate the masses first to accept Islamic reform, then implement it on the grounds that the MASSES want it.

Gradual implementation is the way forward

Well Al-shabaab seem to be struggling against the bantus, while they gained victories against the Axmaar. AS have not shown any promise against Amisom. 3 years of what? In the meantime, the citizens burn

AMISOM is a heavily fortified fort that protects the TFG, unless Al Shabab gains some technological edge to destroy those taangi, it'll require patience
