What made the Egyptian revolution a success and model for all future revolutions.
A Modern day revolution (the only kind that can succeed in the 21st century).
1. There were only two focus points. The end goal and the immediate task.
2. The end goal was agreed by all the participants (The People with capital P). The immediate task was left to the individual or the group.
3. The message was always simple and singular. The end game "freedom". The Immediate task "Drive out Mubarak".
4. There was a dynamic and analytical online community.
5. It had no leader but there are individuals who influence without imposing.
6. As long as that the community remains free of individual or sectarian interest or influence the message will go back and forth to and from the general population however low digital penetration there is.
7. According to the nature of the threats the community constantly adopted and changes. The thread here was Mubaraks mind games with the people trying to shift the goal post by offering a mare reforms and hints of change, which would not wash with the public. To counter this the people never took the eyes of their goal. Often the solutions were instantaneous and local in nature.
It is a starfish.
If the Egyptian revolution was to get centralized and chose a leader it would've been crushed. By the time it had passed the no turning point to be controlled by any single individual or a group. It began to have it's own life and every one else had to confirm to it's simple demands. Freedom to the people.
