Somalinimo, or Somali nationalism - is both xaaraam and destructive. We should all be happy that the cancerous idea has been laid to rest.

I'm more optimistic for Somalia now than I was 10 years ago....mainly because I think there's been an evolution, in the political sense at least. There are more ideologies present and more open debate. There's also more Somali media present and changes in technology mean there will be a change for the better in Somalia. It will take longer to change Somali society and improve the economy but it is not completely hopeless....you can already see changes taking place.

Is it the end of Somalinimo? No, I think there will always be Somalinimo because that is the foundation of Somalia....without some belief in Somalinimo, there really isn't Somalia since we're all really a bunch of nomadic clans who've never really created a state or any civilisation to speak of.

So, since I can't change the fact that I am Somali, my conscious mind won't allow me to lose all hope in Somalinimo and Somalia.

Of course the people who entertain this opinion are from areas witch has historicly fostered anti somali groups. Ayaan xirsi,Abdullahi yusuf, Iman, Faroole, etc.

It is these kind of people that brought the ethiopians to xamar.
It is these kind of people that chooses to work for non muslims in the quest for the destruction of Islam.
it is these kind of people, wich at one point sold the somali coast to Italian
And it is these kind of people that hand over their fellow somali brothers to ethiopian agressors.
It is no suprise they espuse this anti somali behaviour.

The Somali flag should only fly when the national government gives us our share, maintain a good relationship with Puntland, and works hard to implement a federal government. The concept of somalinimo isn't useful for us to believe because it doesn't exist ( if it did Somalia wouldn't be in this situation). What really pisses me off is that its only in Puntland where the Somali flag flies but it doesn't stop the haters from their usual rants. :D

Walaal clearly you are not one of these qabilists pigs openly hating on the somali flag, wich represents everyone. Why not take a clear stance against people who take the love of the besha too far? :)
