Stay on topic , we're talking about Darfur here .
Darfur (Arabic: دار فور‎ dār fūr, lit. "realm of the Fur") is a region in Sudan. An independent sultanate for several hundred years, it was incorporated into Sudan by Anglo-Egyptian forces in 1916.
i know but lybia has been accused of arming darfur rebels!!!
Okay but what do you think about the Arab League rushing everybody to meet for a special assembly in order to save the Lybian civilian population against air strikes from their own government roughly a month after the "revolution" has started there and not doing anything for the civilian population in Darfur against Omar al Bashir 's air force I dunno how many years in ?

The Arab League is a joke. Who cares what they do? Such a waste of an organization that could really made all of these countries, including Somalia, into much more prosperous places.

Well I did a little search on what was the position of the AL towards Saddam's bombing of Kurdish civilians , not only could I not find much but it may swerve us into a whole different topic.

** serious discussion please my brothers and sisters

The Arab League has been pretty quick {in comparative terms} to vote on a resolution favoring a "no fly zone " in Lybia and I support it , but has yet to make a similar move when it comes to the well recorded atrocities committed against civilians in Darfur Sudan .
Omar Bashir, was one of the arab league's van boys so they couldnt do that to him.as for the "no fly zone" libyan resolution, its nothing more than a symbolic gesture.Because, imposing no fly zone starts with air strikes against libya's air force, and air defences as Robert Gates, U.S defence secretary said, then air patrolls fly over the country to impose it.now the question is who is gonna enforce "no fly zone for the arab league"? :? they neither have the military capabilities, nor they want the west to do it.Dillema is a biatch :|

It is utter nonsense and ps that there were massacres committed by the Sudan's government forces. The fact of the matter is when oil was discovered in Darfur and it was the Chinese who were conducting those oil explorations, the west + Israel instigated their assets in that country. Two of the rebel groups have their offices in Paris and Tel Aviv and most of the military aid to these rebel groups comes thru neighboring countries and also thru aid organizations who bring it in the name of 'humanitarian missions'. This was the main reason why Sudanese government barred all of the western NGOs from operating in the west of the country. So the whole western campaign of atrocity, 'genocide' was a smokescreen of their true intentions, oil.

Lately, the relationship between Sudan and the west improved that Sudan was removed from the list of 'terrorist' sponsoring countries and you no longer hear about Darfur. The west oil companies will have their companies exploring oil in the western Sudan, they will have exclusive access to the oil and other mineral resources in South and North Sudan, and the Darfur case is a history. The only time you will hear about Darfur is if Sudan reneges from its current agreements with the west.

As for Arab League, it is a toothless organization that is only used as a rapper stamp when it is needed.

"no fly zone " is a missleading phrase that is used very loosely. Its a straw short of an invasion but most people dont realy consider the full implication of what a "no fly zone" entails.

Go Gadaffi Go!!
