Now, now my dear. Let us not run before we can walk. Atheist is a big word, it really is. So, let us leave it aside for the moment (with all the baggage and extra meanings it carries) and concentrate instead on your misuse of possessive pronouns. So, it is ok to say:

I just met a Somali whose son is an atheist.

or

I just met a Somali who's an atheist.

p.s.
Naturally, I expect you now to get upset and fire an insult my way (though I was merely trying to help here). Still, if you must do it, can you please pay attention to your choice of word? In other words, I will fully understand the insult if you say "You're an idiot" but I shall be most offended (and not to mention irritated) if you say "Your an idiot".

p.p.s
Like I said a million times about such topics; we are Somali and if we mean to become a real nation, people and country we must have a little of everything that is good or bad about this world. I'm now glad that we have fulfilled our atheist quota. Next, let us start looking for home-grown thieves that only specialise in stealing women's underwear from outdoor washing lines.

I met a Somali Atheist couple of years ago in Ethiopia [though I suspect he was Agnostic]. He was born and bred in Djibouti but lived most of his adult life in Canada and he was in his early 40's.

We stayed in the same hotel in Diredawa and we ate breakfast together every morning. He was a decent guy tbf.

It was funny thou that he still used terminologies like "ilaahi ka cabso" and "Insha Allah" and "War yaa ilaahi yaqaan" even thou he is not Muslim any more.

This is why Somalia gotta be a secular society, cos we need to accommodate people like those guys. There are more Somali Atheist or Agnostics out there than we think. And those guys can't be excluded from their homeland because of their belief system.

Yes they can.. They shall be executed for crimes against the religion and nation if they dare step foot on Somali land. Disgraceful characters.

Soomalinimo should be tied to Islam. One who is not a muslim can join the amxaar as far as i'm concerned.
Stupid zoomalis are always too concerned about the lives of others. Whether he is an an atheist, hindu or even an animist should be none of your business, at the end of the day whatever he believes is between him and Allah only.
I am not going to seek out people like this, but if they mention in front of me, they will be dispatched to the depths of hell.

I've met agnostics that do the same thing from the Sham countries or those from Pakistan. But I have not met a Somali atheist/agnostic in my life face to face
