We must give up the idea of nationalism because it is exactly what is dividing us. Quran says not to be divided, and several hadeeth talk against the disease of nationalism. Is the word of Allah and the messenger of Allah not enough for us ? If we take a look at current problems of Ummah, among other problems, it is obvious that we're divided, and therefore weak.

Look what Prophet said

" ...People should give up their pride in nations because this is a coal from the coals of hell-fire. If they do not give this up Allah (swt) will consider them lower than a lowly worm which pushes itself through khur (feces)." [abu Dawd and Tirmidhi].

Anyway, I like the ayat in the Quran that says that we were made into nations and tribes so that we may know one other.

Maybe the problem with Afghanistan is their lack of nationalism? Have you considered that? Why have they been unable to maintain any form of stability for the past 30+yrs. They have been unable to break free from any of their puppet masters. If they had a strong nation, like China, no one would mess with them. They would even be better than China because they're all Afghanis and are all Muslim so they would be able to protect themselves and practise Islam peacefully.

Actually Afghanistan and Somalia both have a very similar history both countries were subject to bruta,l marxist, atheist communist regimes and after a major war (SOMALI OGADEN/ SOVIET INVASION) fell into civil war where tribal fiefdoms fought over resources.

Then came rise of two honourable movements UIC/Al Mujahideen and Taliban / Al Shabab. Both offshoots of each other.

Both movements are interconnected today and are the only non corrupt Shareeca countries until US/ ethiopian invasion.

Afghanistan was made a fail state by who ? 1996-2001 Afghanistan had a fully functioning government but it was destabilized by the West just because they refused to submiy to their demands ! Somalia had a fully functioning government in 2006 for 6 months and was destabilized by US funded Ethiopians!
