China: total: 9,596,961 sq km
land: 9,569,901 sq km
water: 27,060 sq km

  f-king hell Africans are so stupid wallahi. I think it's true that us blacks have low IQ's, wallahi this is unbelievable. I mean imagine if Ethiopia was settled by whites for example, I'm almost 100% sure that it would've been rivaling Germany's economy or something by now.

I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't disputing that the river is replenished from the source. I was just pointing out that some of the water is wasted as the river finishes its course and drains into the ocean when it could be put to use/rerouted to irrigate more land.

Apparently there are some dams already built on the Shabelle (which usually dries up before reaching the Jubba river):
Damming isn't the solution though. Its like seeking surgery for a bruised knee.

Water can still be pumped from the river into reservoirs and other forms of storage. My dad always ran a successful farm by taking a motored pipe and vacuuming water from the Jubba onto his property, he fed 1,200 acres of land with this technique. A long enough network of pipes can deliver water to a much larger region. A dam basically carves up an entire ecosystem for the sake of water security, its too much for what Somalis need; and I still have yet to name the downsides in detail.

Ethiopia can put a million dams on the Shabelle, it won't affect Somalis much, we don't use nearly enough water to need all of the Shabelle's capacity.

I think Israel should be our model in this regard. I have always admired how their Kibbutz greened the desert.

That's a naive way to look at the subject. The Israelis have a destructive attitude towards water as they do about everything else, that's why the bastards have to launch a war every 10 years to find new sources of water. You can't "green" the desert anymore than you can grow a garden. Its just a temporary aesthetic pleasure that can't sustain itself without constant human tampering. If it wasn't for Turkey selling cheap water to the Jews, they'd be colonizing Jordan right now.

My adviser likes to talk about Uzbekistan and bring Uzbek speakers, as it is the arch-type example of failure in "greening the desert." I'm sure you know that happened to the Aral Sea. At one point Uzbekistan was like a flower, the entire country shown of different colors; immediately after the USSR collapsed all that "green" turned into dust overnight. If the world had unlimited fresh water, greening the desert would sound great, but limited water resources mean that luxuries like greening the desert should be put off hold indefinitely.

This article explores the whole Somalia-Ethiopia River dilemma which could be a future problem as water resources are getting more and more scarce. What do you guys think? It concludes in the end that some sort of agreement could be made between Ethiopia and Somalia where Somalia secures a relivable access to the sea for Ethiopia and in return Ethiopia leaves The jubba-shabelle alone. Idk :|

Hence why capturing the ogaden province was a top priority.
