The name comes from old Arabic for the region and it was called Khaza'in. It is been latinized in Western literature since they couldn't pronounce KH and added the suffix "ia" to mean land of hence Azania. I think calling it Khaza'in is more appropriate.
Azania has different meaning and connotation in Arabic :mrgreen:

Like the map points to Asania is reserved for Bakool, Bay and Lower Shabelle. Three of the five federal mega states haven't taken root.

*Two or more of the original 18 regions of Somalia can form a state and if this rule already in the TFG charter is implemented, well there goes Galmudug, etc.
