This administration took two years to materialize. This Limuru conference will last six days, it was opened by Second in command of African Union for Somalia and it has the backing of the international community. Present are IGAD, AMISOM, AU, EU, UN etc and representatives from many embassies that are based in Nairobi. They are observing this regional state's formation and elections. This is ground breaking and it is the first time the people of this region are experiencing free & fair Democratic process. Yesterday, the delegations witnessed as the Members of Azania state debated their regional constitution and today it was voted with landslide. Also approved yesterday were the name of the region and the flag. Professor Gandi made long speech as to why it is important to change the name and why he proposed this name (Azania) and the meaning of the flag (colors white, blue and red).
You can not compare this state with any other state that was previously declared for this region. This state have well trained and well paid troops that capable of defeating the terror group and have already taken major cities from them in Jubbas & Gedo and when the administration is complete the liberation movement in will intensify.
We been hearing about this programme for too long and some were frustrated on why it was moving too slow. This was due the number of reconciliations that were chaired to bring all state holders and the locals into the same page. Over 40 conferences were chaired and on top of that all the civil servants were given full training which included how to prevent corruption and nepotism which is accustom to every Somali. Also worth mentioning is Ethiopia’s opposition to the program and their direct intervention to dismantle the program as it was stated on multiple time in the cables of wikileaks.
Today, the international community has understanding of the facts and that all the dabaqodhis within the TFG were working for Ethiopia and were spreading false rumors.
Currently, there are three groups that oppose it:
-Warlords:Bare Hiiraale & CO who committed the biggest atrocities ever experienced by Reer Kismayo and Jubbas.
-Terrorists: The brainwashed youths & their Al-Qaeda overlords who are terrorizing the region
-Dabaqodhis: Those within the TFG that serve the interest of Meles.

What matter more than anything that this programme has, is the backing of the international community. It will have the same recognition as the other two fully functional regional administrations.
On the southern crisis, you could scratch Jubbas & Gedo out of the list soon

What does Azania mean? It sounds the type of name for a fictional place you would read about in the Chronicles of Narnia.

It was the ancient name known for this region before the colonial powers named it Jubbaland.
This area was known Azania for over 2500 years.....this is the name Greeks referred to the region at that time

Azania is a name given by ancient Greeks to a region in the Horn of Africa extending from Djibouti to Northern coast of Tanzania.Later Ptolemaic seafarers defined as the region stretching from port of Adulis in Eritrea today across the straits of Bab Al-Mandabto Cape Guardafui then to Cape Agulhas today's Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. This region includes the hinterlands of most of modern Somalia.
However, it is believed that ancient Egyptians called the North and Northeastern part of the Horn as the Land of Punt and the south and southwestern part as Azania. In other wards Azania would cover what is today's Central Somalia, Ethiopia's Harar Province, the Riverine regions of Southern Somalia, and Northern Province of Kenya.

Do you actually take this seriously?

What cities today is Azania present in?

Mukhtar was clearly a Somali revisionist and it is erroneous for Somalis to upstage the Azania name.

Azania is what was known as the Bantu region south of the Bantu region of Zanj south of Berberi (Cushites....comes from Barbari or Barbarian). Azania is South Africa, While Zanj was the coast of Malindi to Mozambique and Berberi was the present-day Cushitic Horn of Africa.

This is ground breaking and it is the first time the people of this region are experiencing free & fair Democratic process
How are the people of the region experiencing the "Democratic process" when the location at which this event is being held is several hundred miles away from them? Have we not see this film before, of a group of Somalis in the diaspora who have much time in their hands fantasizing Ideas and ensuing great mental exercises to advance some tribal agenda. Indeed this is the nature of the Somali people as a whole; their most educated and illiterate are the most tribalistic amongst them.

So to go back to your statement, the people of this region let alone participating in any process are living in a perilous situation after surviving a drought only to be displaced from their homes by tribal militias who have no ultimate objective other than to see their clan dominate a particular region.

It’s clear the people who are partaking in this endeavor are those who live in comfortable homes in the diaspora. This is just another administration made by the diaspora for the diaspora and nothing more. and I guarantee you it will succumb to the same forces that drive it. They will take one step forward and two steps back. They will fight over who shares what, and the first town they capture their soldiers will point their guns towards each other.

You can not compare this state with any other state that was previously declared for this region. This state have well trained and well paid troops that capable of defeating the terror group and have already taken major cities from them in Jubbas & Gedo and when the administration is complete the liberation movement in will intensify.

Today, the international community has understanding of the facts and that all the dabaqodhis within the TFG were working for Ethiopia and were spreading false rumors.
You can lie to yourself all you want but this does not change the fact that this new administration is not a state but a cohort of individuals selected not based on merit or qualification but tribal ethnicity whose ultimate objective is not to save the plight of the poor of the region but to pour more gas into a burning inferno. A state is an entity capable of funding itself, Independent in making its decision whose actions and ultimate goals are driven by high morals and ethical standards. We see neither of that in this fantasy called Azania.

Calling your opponents silly names will in no way make them disappear. Because this is just another tribal administration not even linked to the carcass that is called the TFG, any military advancement made will be limited.

What matter more than anything that this programme has, is the backing of the international community. It will have the same recognition as the other two fully functional regional administrations.
On the southern crisis, you could scratch Jubbas & Gedo out of the list soon
Haven't we gotten tired of a group claiming to be funded by the "international community", a title so often abused by the current world powers?
We shall the see the wonders Azania “state” has in store for the poverty stricken region. Now they control one town in the Gedo region. I predict the tribal militias, one allied with Ethiopia (Hiiraale) and the other allied with Kenya (Ghaandi) will at their first opportunity turn their guns against each other. As the saying goes, you can’t teach an old dog a new trick.
