Woooo, I don't know what some of you are listing, but yeah we used to play Taraq! And dhudhumashow  I loved my childhood, for the most part Alhamdulilah.
Kuu kuun lamina, lamina tabaraka, seta una baraka, siyeedana...something something

Dhuudhuumasho is hide and seek.

Stuck in mud was alright, until having someone go under your legs started to get odd.
Kuu Kuun lamina, lamina tabaraka, seta una bariya, sideeda muunya, xakay baxay wa*** - the last bit was rude.

Other one: Luf luf luf, xaka - baka -deen - tarak- awal- laam - mafoul- mafashkax, and the person who it stops on mafashkax is out!

Oh, and we used to do Arabic ones too, ileen aniga I never grew-up in Black Africa.

Still the hurt is pretty bad and I never witnessed it, but too many deaths and lifetime imprisonment in Britain is enough to give me a picture.

 @sanduuq furtooy. We knew it as Aminaay sambuus dubtooy, aabahaa dharoow dhaqaa, hooyadaa bur ee dubtaa, etc, etc.

Taraq, turub, fargan, garaangar, bugle, diinleey, liif, banooni, kadhimeey, baaruud, waraf, etc.

The girls fancied gariir, alaab alaabeey, nacash, dhuudhumashoow, shab, etc.

These used to be the most common games in and around Xamar, but the other cities like Marka had their own local games too.

what a fun topic  i use to play this game(forgot the name) basically you pick a number,10,15,17,30 etc depending on how many people are playing. then you sit in a circle and you throw your hand to the grown showing a number of fingers, if the count of everyone's fingers = the number you picked at the start of the game, everyone has to put their hands together and you get to slap them really hard, but they also get a chance to dodge, only you cant pull back. the word i remember is we use to scream "ciyaar bilow" before throwing our hands in on the ground. no pain, no game

I used to love dhudhumashow and running riot in the neighbourhoods and climbing trees. carefree times. Gariir was another favourite game between the girls.
