Something you must understand is separate individual Saudi citizens supporting muslim groups and Saudi government support. For example a group like al-shabab does not get its money direct from the Saudi government or any other government. Instead the money comes from individual donation after Juma prayers or Zaka. This sort of support would be opposed by the official Saudi government. The same applies to any Sunni militant group that is against American interest, they Saudi I guarantee you will follow their masters footsteps.
