My mom's sister used to play on the Somali national team and I only found this out because a Gaaljecel lady who heads one of the Somali communities here told me my aunt was a better point guard than a lot of women in the WNBA. The Gaaljecel lady was a shooting guard. I asked my mom about this and the pictures started coming out with my aunt and the Somali women's team playing against international teams back in the day. Don't think modern day overweight and slow moving Somali women represent the Somali women of the past or what Somali women are capable of.

I disagree this sport for Somali ladies. Naaska hadee iskaga dhuftaan ka waran. Intaa daawanaaye welwel ayaa kujiray. Bullshit, this is risky for woman to play. In my country I would have ban woman to play any sport that required to throw ball to each other. My be tennis or other sports that is not risky. Basketball no way. It is dangerous for somali woman. May be it ok for manly woman in America.
