Dhuusomareeb

Postby RovingMadness » Sat Apr 23, 2011 8:34 pm

What does this city has that makes it possible to capture? After dozens of well-coordinated attacks by the Shabab terrorists, they are yet to hold the city for more than 12 hours. It's really pleasing and mysterious at the same time, the character and courage of the people of Dhuusomareeb.

Reason why the terrorists cannot keep the city is because it has many enterings from all corners.
So the suufi aswj can easily organize themselves from xeraale and guriceel to kick out the worshippers of osama.

These irhaabis have many places under their controle yet they cant even capture galgaduud or xamar. Their death is near.
People learned the violence of shabab. So now they are barking dogs who have no sharp teeth to bite.

Honestly what is considered "Al Shabaab" are really Murusade and Duduble allied militias. Shabaab's priority is really in the Shabelle and Mogadishu around that area

That's true for all of areas in contention in South and Central Somalia. Al Shabab manipulates clan dynamics to advance its objectives. In the South such as Jubba Valley, it is able to play and manipulate Marehan/Ogadeen/Harti tensions to support a particular group against the others. In the Shabelle Valley, it's able to manipulate the social dynamics between the various Mudulood subclans, and the same is repeated in Banadir, with Murusade, Saleeban and duduble playing as accomplices to Shabab designs. In Galgaduud, as you said, it's Murusade/Duduble vs mostly Ceyr militias. Digil and Mirifle act as force multipliers in all of these regions and they are able to tip the balance of power in favor of Shabab.
