Who absolutely lost it mentally. I mean one of the most "normal" people I know became a complete psyco. He has paranoia now and He believes that people are after Him. he says things like "They can hear us" and I ask "WHO can hear us?". He says that sometimes He feels like a idol worshiper. He says his sex drive is out of control and that he is addicted to pornography and has even gone looking for prostitutes
He doesn't sleep @ night and will wake up in the middle of the night crying, making dua etc. (nothing wrong with that) but this coupled with the aforementioned stuff, and its clear He has gone completely by the wayside mentally. I tried to help him as much as possible, but I mean @ this point the guy seems almost beyond the point of help. I did some research and it looks like this is a carbon copy case of bi-polar disorder. I think the turning point for this guy was he went about 9 months to a year where He did nothing but stay by himself and play video games. Even in jail, solitiary confinement is considered a severe punishment. Even criminals have to socialize with other criminals. The bottom line is You cannot isolate Yourself from people.
On a side note by looking at all the bi polar symptoms I'm convinced that MANY Somalis have bi polar and it is prevalent in our community. We're just too jaahil to accept it as a ill.

Yeah unfortunately Somalis don't believe in mental illness, which is really a form of jahilnimo. Your friend has a schizophrenic disorder, I hope he is getting treatment. I have a cousin who has the same symptoms, it all started with him staying by himself in his room, locking the door and not letting anyone in. His parents decided to send him to Somalia for hawa kadis, but he ended up joining al shabaab, and now in Xamar fighting for them, poor thing all he needed was medication and treatment and now might lose his life all due to jahilnimo iyo ceeb ka carar.

Medication makes them permanent retards. I would not suggest it. They just really need hawa gedis. But instead of sending them to Somalia send them to Addis Ababa or Djibouti or something.

It's bound to happen man, I always wondered how someone can go from sane and logical to complete insanity. I had a friend that went to prison for 3 years and when he came out doctors said he had the brain of a 6 year old and will forever be in that stage. I remember when we used to discuss about many subjects, now he just stares at the walls not even able to recognize his mom. SAD.

i shouldn't laugh but this reminds me of a friend a while back who was convinced that the old white man "Charles darwin" who is imprinted on the £10 note was after him, he would tear up every £10 note and only use £5 or £20s
but his his family sent him back home, he got married and is now fine

The ancient greeks used to force mentally ill people to work very hard on farms and that used to apparently cure them, wallahi no joke
