Bad Breath

Postby Murax » Fri May 13, 2011 3:23 pm

A coworker of mine I work with a lot on things just has horrible breath. The crazy thing is that breath is like the same type no matter what. He can drink a soda it won't change anything, candy, won't change anything. Orally Dude doesn't look like He brushes his teeth but damn, this is just horrible. With Indhayar they have a similar issue with the breath laakin I've just come to accept it. Could this be some sort of a mouth disease for the type of person I described?

He probably doesn't scrub his tongue or has some sort of periodontal disease, eats smelly foods or even reflux is known to cause bad breath. Thing about bad oral hygiene is that its carried in your blood stream and plague can cause serious health complications, specially coronary. Brushing and flossing isn't only important for your mouth, but for your whole body. Even for people who brush daily, very few people own tongue scrubbers or spend a minimum of 3 mins scrubbing their tongue.

I too cannot stand bad breath, or body odour, and the thing is is that I cannot hide my disgust unlike other folk. I once sat next to some french guys and girls on the train and the person next to me (one of the girls) had a really bad breath all I could do was hold my breath until they got off. Even worse was some homeless guy on the train who smelt the worse I have ever smelt.

I think this guy has problems with what he eats sometimes the worse smells come from caloosha and he probably doesn't brush well either.

Reason garlic and onion are makrooh (discouraged) to consume right before prayer is because the lungs actually bring up their foul smell, no amount of brushing or mouth wash will get rid of it either, because the smell is saturated in your airways and blood stream. Gums and tic-tac don't do shit either, they just mask the smell for a short period of time. Only with time, the smell will pass.

Half Baked,

Thanks for the info. Yea, the thing is I don't think its what this guy eats as I work with Him and He eats typical food You see people consume (fast food). I think as You pointed out Him possibly not brushing his tounge and/or a oral disease could be the issue. As You stated for health reasons brush your damn teeth and also for appearance. I mean even as a Guy You have to have a little bit of xishood from bani aadenka.

Cumar,

I agree bro, it is just a nasty thing especially for girls. To me though bad breath is even more intolerable for Me then body odor (assuming you're talking about like sweat/arm pits etc.) With that I can give the person a pass in that maybe the person was in a rush and didn't use deoderant or just came from the gym or something. With bad breath to me it just shows laziness and araajonimo

There are people who just have gastric problems and the smell is really coming from their stomach. Give that man a lot of water!, God knows he needs to clean out his system

I try to avoid talking to people with bad breath. I haven't talked to a person with a foul breath in such a long time Wallahi. Just body odors kill me nowadays. I sometimes walk past a person smelling like expired burritos or doofar. I have a weak stomach so when I smell something shitty, I quickly gag.

He could also have tonsil stones that sit in the back of your mouth, towards your throat.

Those things are disgusting and stay lodged in back then, smell like shid (literally)... when I had braces and had all this other nonsense in my mouth, I started to have this problem. But it has gone away.
