The current borders might be European but you'd be mistaken if you're trying to say that people have never tried to forge their own boundaries of belonging aka nations or empires. Global Islamic state will not happen during our lifetime. I have seen the conditions of muslim ummah. Amongst them there are secularists, irhaabi wahabis and those who stay at graves all day while singing ''ya shiikhi fulan madad''.

Maybe after few hunderd years, with the arrival of amir ul mumineen Imam Mahdi radiyallah anhu the muslim ummah will be united again.

Its funny how a lot of muslims want to distancing themselves from greater unity and cooperation between the muslim countries. I wonder why on earth would a muslim screw his face over that Idea. We are seeing western countries working towards economic unity for example the Euro and European central bank, military co-operations and so on.....While muslim countries are building up their military stock to suppress their own people or to point their guns at other muslim countries.

Terrible idea. Muslim countries don't have the same goals or interests, a nomad in the Sahara desert and a fisherman in Sumatra cannot expect the same outcome. This is a stupid idea and a dangerous one.

I always say I am from Xamar and Afgooye, but yet everyone sticks Baay and Bakool on me, go figure lol

But back to the thing, almost all of the boundaries and ideas of nationalism that exist today because it was forged by Europeans. Other identities existed and the strongest one was being religion. How else do you explain Islamic empires that existed even long after the death of the Prophet. These weren't seen on a level of nationalism but on a level of religion
