Somalia..does it have a right to exist?

Postby Hormood » Tue May 17, 2011 4:53 pm

Frankly, I don't see how it is possible to accept the notion of a sovereign independent "Somalia" when the two-state solution has not been implemented. We are approaching 18 May, the 20th anniversary of Somaliland statehood with only defacto recognition.

Meanwhile “Somalia” enjoys the false pretext of existence; a country that should have never come into being.

Somaliland recognition fantasy will continue to be just that a fantasy as long as “Somalia” is still standing.

A strong and united Ethiopia will ensure the end of this “Somalia” country nonsense -- may God give it more strength and influence.

18 May Cheers .

Ethiopia is actually the country that should never have existed. A collection of ethnic groups that share absolutely nothing. In my opinion, Somalia made sense and still makes more sense than any other country in the world.

That's absolute rubbish , Abyssinia has a rich century long history as a kingdom ruled by none but its own.
And in recent years producing leadership unmatched in Africa from the idealist King Haile Salasi to the patriotic Mengistu Haile Marium
who brought the Somalia nation and its afweyne warlord to its knees.

A large portion of Somali people have never been loyal to the Somalia flag and symbols of Somalia statehood. It explains also why Ethiopia defeated Somalia in the misguided 1977 border war. You can not fight a united people and expect to win.

^Actually, Ethiopians are way more civilized and politically adept than Somalis. The divergent paths that societies took after the overthrow of their respective dictators (both Mengistu and Barre fell in the 1991), is testimony to Ethiopia's superiority over Somalia.

Every country that exists has a right to exist. Having a civil war or failing to form a central government doesn't negate the right to exist.

Ethiopia is trailing 30 years behind Somalia. Tall building and high ways is not development as they would crumble soon. The political tension and hatred among diffrent ethnics have reached its climax as(80s somalia). It will be matter of years,if not months, the begining of the doomsday.

Somalia has a right to exist regardless of your opinion, you sound like a secessionist who wants to bury and forget about the Somali Republic. Not gonna happen mate.
