Somali mining company

Postby Coeus » Wed Jun 01, 2011 2:30 pm

Are there any?

me and my friend from Djibouti will perhaps start University together this August. And we just spoke of this today when we were hanging out. I know professional mining companies needs many different kind of people with different professions.

Like
Electrician and energy knowledge
Construction experience
Knowledge of minerals
Geologists

etc.

So do you think there would be demand for a african/somali mining company in Somalia or in the horn for that matter?

I haven't heard of any Somali mining company, its a highly capital-intensive venture. Where will all the funds come from? I wish you all the best insha'allah

Read these, and search through google for more info. Personally since my family lives in North Somalia, my adeers have told me minerals do exist in Somalia in commercial scale.

It will also be kind of expensive to aquire the mining tools aswell as paying the few workers you have with a decent wage.

But if the equipment can be bought in China, perhaps that will save some money, and have local workers to do the "non expertise" needed work. 100 dollars/month to them local workers :)
