What role?

Postby FAH1223 » Mon Jun 06, 2011 10:47 pm

Should the public sector, the private sector, and the non-profit sector play in building competitiveness for the economy?

Esp in regards to Somalia

The private sector has been a successful niche for Somalis both in the diaspora and in Somalia. Just through hawalas you can see stiff competition and innovation between Somali companies. I personally Somalia will prosper through capitalism...you can see the economic disparities between Somalis in Europe vs the ones in America.

Private sector.

Minimize non-profit sector to strict charities and simply put the public sector in charge of building infrastructure that will maximize the effectiveness of the private sector.

The Non profit sector should be expanded to include infrastructure like railways and roads and Irrigation..
Never trust the private sector with infrastructure, they have a very bad track record..

everything else should be in the private sector,
governments role should be limited to regulating the private sector and long term planning.

The optimum would be to find a balance between free market economics and government regulations.Let the proverbial invisible hand work with-in the parameters of the law.

the invisible had is bullshit, all lies..

without regulations you will end up with chaos, or the case of foxes gaurding chicken houses like in all the major western economies today.
