Muufo tinaar & maraq malaay laga sameeyay, preferably yuumbi/marlin fish.

Moos bukeeni (plantain) sauteed in butter & brown sugar.

Kutileeti, kac-kac, moos macaan, bataati iyo basbaas, bajiye, canuuni, nanac dhag-dhag, etc.

Rooti baana olio with beer.

Muufo baraawe iyo mash-mash, sambuus malaay. Basbaas qumbe.

One thing I miss the most about Marka & Baraawe is the food. You'll never tire of the variety of dishes there. My mother was a good cook, but a busy lady, we had a male cook (custom in both cities) and my sisters also cooked. A lot of snacks too. We used to get bananas & mangos by the sack, cheap & abandunt with Shalaambood & Janaale being so close.

LOL @ baasto hawiye. My family makes cambuulo all the time, well not so much more, but the digir iyo baris together with some saliid macsaro and sugar was the best dinner

Leila I am not sure that is the same thing. There was gone off milk in the picture. I remember that because of how odd it was to leave milk out until it went bad to actually make it.

HalfBkd finally someone who gets muufo

The only cambuulo I like waa Sal buko with saliid macsaro, the saliid macsaro makes the cambuulo

BV, maybe that is why it tasted a bit dhanaan but still sweet. We make it from fresh milk at home.

Falfaliir is my favorite cambuulo hands down. They take the aduki beans, bake them using sand like peanuts, then use mooy & kal to get the skin off, kadib waa la haatin jiray, to get the husk off and then cooked the same way as any cambuulo. My grandmother used to make it. Served with some sesame oil and sugar, maybe even some oodkac.

Not a fan of salbuko. Misir & moordi are also good.

Allahu naxariisto my grandmother, she knew good food. Cabdalle Sabdi, Reer Ceel Buur. She was actually from Bargaan which is near Galhareeri.

Was your abooto Sabdi or Foor Culus?
