If you can't return home then take home with youI always wanted to ask this question to a large group of Somalis, in a way it determines the future of our country and our people.
So where do you see yourself retiring and raising a family? Diaspora, Muslim countries, Africa or even perhaps Somalia?
If not Somalia then what legacy will you be leaving with your children? Would you not be giving them a hidden message that ‘Somalia is a no hope’ and we should assimilate with our host nation?
How can you teach and raise your children to be warriors and not afraid of taking challenges and opportunities if we give up on our mother land. How can they stand up straight and be proud people and give their 100% when there are no real tangible assets to be proud of in Somalia.
Last but not least what if they bring someone else home cadaan, indhayar, African or god forbide a non-muslim? Who would be to blame? Our children or ourselves as we were afraid to take challenges?

and my offspring will know they are Somali, they'll know its history, and what they do with that is up to them. But I'm not really authorized to speak on it anyway. my somali = daciif, and I have never set lived there... so I'm not really an authentic source. My parents, even though they left when they were late teens/early 20s, are authentic sources of knowing how Somalia was like back in the 70s...early 80s
