I just think its strange that Somalis here, who all live in extremely-liberal Western cities, are all jumping in praise of Shariah. I'd advise everyone to hold their horses until they've actually experienced both sides. I'll take San Francisco over Kuwait City any day of the week.

True, most somali women have dead beat husbands, and they end up supporting the kids by themselves. Just like the adoon women. The difference is--somali woman are smarter than adoon women. Adoon women depend on government--somali women depend on government and do business of their own. Another difference is--somali women have high level of testosterone hormones which make them a bit like men.

Basra said specifically Somali males are deadbeats and would in no way shape or form survive without Somali women. She made it a specific case, and that specific case is completely and utterly fallible.

I agree what these people who dislike sharia law, only dislike it through the brainwashing they have suffered by living in the west and absorbing the biased western media. A lot of people don’t use their brains, they don’t process what they hear and form their own opinions. They just eat everything up and let it be their mindset, and its very disappointing.

Anyway what they see in the media about the arab world made them think that is Sharia law. But it is not, Sharia law is perfect and absolute however is difficult to implement.

What Saudi Arabia and other arab states adjudicate is not Sharia law but rather Saudi law e.g.
To your specific example, Saudi law:

Saudi (Islamic law) allows women to work, provided it does not lead to her neglecting her essential duties of homemaking. Women may also work if it is necessary for their support, such as a widow with children.

That is what Saudi Arabia tried to install, but the western media have made this appear to be backwards etc. So simple minded fellows, will fall prey to this and believe this is backwards. When instead what they don’t understand is that the adjudicators are trying to follow the perfect law of Allah as best as possible. We should be encouraging them not discouraging them, they are not perfect and will of course make mistakes as they are humans trying to implement a just law.
