Caburiye,
Where are you from?
What you need to do is volunteer to gain valuable experience in your field. For some reasons, Somalis are allergic to volunteering. If you volunteer you accomplish two things; for one you can volunteer for a good cause such as helping community centers and second you can put that in your resume as experience.
Let me give you couple of examples, when I got my current job as a part time employee, all I had on my resume was community center experience which consisted of setting up computers, developing databases and so son. It helped me greatly!!! By the way, I just completed my Master's in Computer Information and while I am not at where I should be in salary wise, I know I will be there!!!! A good friend of mine who got his bachelor's in political science works for the Red Cross because worked for them as a volunteer. While you do odd jobs to make ends meet, you can still take sometime and volunteer.
Fah,
What did study for your major in yur bachelor's? My manager in an engineering company had his degree in psychology. So while it is good idea to work in your field of study, I have seen many people whose career fields have nothing to do with their education.
I like your attitude and prospective in life and your father should be proud of you!! The fact that you are here with us even though you were born here shows that you really know who you are. You can go somewhere in life when you know you came from
I read your inquires about J.D VS MPA the other day, but I didn't have a time to respond. My advice to you would be to get the MPA first because you may not even need the J.D degree. Plus it would cost you so much that it is going to take you years to pay-off your student loans. Stay with your MPA for now. You are still young and you would have lots of time to do that if you want to get your J.D degree. In addition to public administration careers, there are plenty of jobs in NGO and UN organizations that require MPA/MPH. I can tell you few people with MPA's degrees who are doing good including the current Somali Prime Minister who got his MPA and then worked for a while and later on decided to pursue his PHD. Hussein Abdi Halane the former Finance Minister and the senior officer at Save the Children holds MPA. I am not sure about this one, but friend of mine told me that he has MPA from a university in the States; he is the current PNU candidate for Easleigh area Yusuf Hassan Abdi who also worked for the UN for many years. Here is some list of successful officials with MPA degrees:

For someone in technical field like me a degree like MPA/MPH would provide with the opportunity to move on to senior management levels. Have you tried KHANACADEMY when you were preparing for the exam. What online resources would you recommend? Koronto once asked my why would I want to do the GRE exam if I already took the GMAT; the answer is if you have a good GPA with very good GRE score, you can actually get MPA scholarship and the good thing about it is that you can get it done online!!!!
