It's amazing to me how far back some of this stuff goes, and how slowly and to what few folks it spread. The reluctance to recognize ( or possible ignorance of) the Islamic contribution is clear in Dadaaye's post. The truth does not require exaggeration.

The Crusades were not the glorious and righteous events that you are making them out to be. Read the chronology on Wiki. Some of the later ones didn't even have the sanction of the Popes. You may be that kind of Christian, but I am not.

Meru the Ottomans gaurenteed religous freedom.
The catholics would have converted the protestants by force, or the orthodox as well.
The christians in those days did not believe in freedom of religion while the muslims practiced it.
