Puntland is place where people who made tribalism their way of life lived for many centuries. Puntland is the new name they called it since 1998. It is actually called the land of "Majeerteenia" since Somalis inhabited in that part of that region. Today I will reaffirmed my old study about how Somalis tolerate tribalism more than the religion of Islam.
For over 800 years The Majeerteen tribe lived in NorthEastern part of Somalia nowadays called Puntland. These people have a history of killing each other in the name of tribalism. the last decade alone over 98% percent of the killing that took place in that region was about tribal revenge.
Yes it is true they are muslims and they know killing another Muslim is totally prohibited but they do kill each other intentionally. For example a young man named C/nuur Hassan Dahir killed 3 people one day because of tribal revenge. C/nuur hassan was a man who never miss a prayer in the mosque. In fact his face you can see the sujuud "Mark" on it. Yet he did kill innocent muslims because he was revenging for his tribe. C/nuur when asked why you do that? "This is how my forefathers used to do", he replied.
In Bosaaso alone they are over 80 mosques. They are over 100 madarasaad and thousands of xaafidul quran. Yet tribalism is the only way of life they know so far. Everyday someone is killing someone else in Gaalkacyo, Bosaaso and all the cities these tribe lived. I am specifically discussing Puntland and how horrible their way of life has been for many centuries.
Ali saalax was an old man who never miss a single prayer in many decades. When he heard his tribe was attacked. he bought a gun and went to the city where the other tribe who fought against his tribe lived. He started shooting everybody including kids killing more than 18 people. What has happened to all his prayers. Who he was praying to?. Why he choose tribalism over Islam?. Instead of The religion of honor and paradise.
Many people in these generation actually understands tribalism is equal flavor and meaning of your own stools. You go to the bathroom and take shit. That shit is more flavor and well deserved than tribalism. That is how ugly and backward that society has been for many centuries.
Many people will see the outlook of these people and will say they are great people who follow the religion of prophet Muhammad to their best. Actually Muhammad(PBUH) has nothing to do their way of life. They appear as muslims, they pray everyday. they fast every month. they have million mosques. they have over 10,000 ulamaa. Yet their actions has nothing to do about Islam. Today if you go to Gaalkacyo you may be killed if they knew your tribal status because of may be tribal revenge. They pledge allegience to Tribalism and not Allah and his prophets.
If you informed them their actions. They will be more angry and more bragging about their actions. God increase their arrogance. They are blind.
I hope the Muslim world should interfere these people and lead them to the right path because we as muslims must preach good deeds and prohibit bad deeds.
To end this behaviour we must destroy the small minority who influence tribalism eveyday. They must hit the ground for good inshallah...
