Wow, I had no idea the place was this stunning. Definitely an example for a certain promising Somali coastal city to follow. :som:

Maputo's entire skyline is reminiscent of 1960s Latin-American styles, so based on this how did you arrive to the conclusion that African "buildings" look ugly?

Edeer have you been to Cairo? 8 out of every 10 buildings are either unpainted or uncompleted, anybody that have lived a single year in Africa would know this is quite the improvement. Your "Western" mentality is getting in the way of appreciating the beauty of the infrastructure showcased here.

What is with you and posting photos of other African cities? Is this just a way to motivate Somalis or there's a hidden motive?

I am showing Somalis what some of the nation's cities will look like within this decade. They should feel encouraged to return, my plans are already set.

What does a decent government have to do with private enterprise and investment? :|

The gov't should only be there to protect the peoples' money and guarantee a safe environment for investment on any level. Otherwise, the buildings you see are all privately-built and owned.

What do you mean what does a decent government have to do with it? The government controls zoning laws, building contracts, taxes the private companies to maintain the infrastructure around it, settles disputes between companies, etc etc. The government is a major component.

You have a point. I thought you were citing that the gov't built or supported the construction of everything in the photos.

I am actually impressed, usually the pictures you post has the 'meh effect on me but I am honestly shocked at the beauty and infrastructure of Mozambique. This is definitely a model for coastal Somali cities.
