I never knew somalia had so manny TV channels.

I was watching "universal" the other day ; it is a pirate TV channel that functions from the satelite slot of TV Burma. Pure moryaanism.

I was also disappointed that many of the ad slots were not that intelligent.

The fundraising for mosques ( religious zealots who appeal to the good hearts of the somalis) lowers the standard of the channel. It is said that universal is paid a percentage of the collected money.

ETN TV, produced and broadcast directly from Bosaso, Somalia. Easily the most well-funded and professional Somali news and culture station.

ETV? I've never heard of them before...do they only report in Majertenia or do they have wider coverage like the TV stations above.

I think SNTV/Tvga Qaranka is the best...it is a lot more focused on Somalia and you see more of Somalia and since it is based in Somalia you can cut it some slack. The others don't really have good programmes that ever got half my attention and that's not the half of it.

I think Royal tv is the least bad of the other four....I like how they have cartoons in english for the kids and they don't dedicate the entire day to fundraising for one mosque and the news. They could do with more good programmes though. I expected Universal to be a lot better by now being the pioneer and all.

To be honest they all lack originality, quality and their advertising is the worst I ever had the misfortune to watch...horrendous...leaves me speechless....some people clearly take no pride in their work...how can they create such awful stuff?
