Forget exports that will come later. The number one focus should be creating a sustainable internal economy with a strong banking sector which is the backbone of economic prosperity. Future governments need to create a business friendly environment and help future healthy competition. Jobs creation is most pivotal in the situation, since so many Somalis are idle.
Exports are the icing on the cake, consumption is the biggest component of GDP

Some pottery items have potential both for local consumption and export:
Baraawe used to produce a charcoal stove that was both efficient and attractive.
The water jars (ashoon?) from Ceelwaaq and elsewhere are durable and a classic design.
Leather makes sandals and shoes. Leather and hardwood makes furniture.
Cotton makes cloth.
Gypsum makes plaster.
Get past the notion of exporting raw resources.
