Oromos swallowed both sides of the warring parties. The Muslims and the Christians. 90% of the war happened on what is today Oromo land, and most of the tribes that took part in the conflict today belong to an Oromo clan.
I have always stipulated that Somalis should stop speaking to Oromo as a single ethnic group; it is a confederation united by language in a territory. I am aware of that.

I agree! Not only by our dialects but majority of the time you can tell which area a person is from just by how they look.

Therefore I announce I am not related or have anything in common with Shawaan and wallagaan Oromos.

Alleyle! Bantu after posing as Somali now tries to pose as descendant of Abadir nthg more nthg less

Cut the crap and go dance your Niko

B.
How did I miss this?  Please, for your own embarrassment stop pretending to know anything about Somalis. Bantu? Niiko? Those are not even casual stereotypes towards Marehan.

As for being a descendent of Sheikh Abadir Muuse Warwaajecle, how can you use that against me when it was less than a 150 years ago when we were introducing Islam to you? :?
It is written in The New Encyclopaedia Britannica :

"To the east the Somalis were once more on the move. After 1850 one of the Darod Somali groups, the Marehan crossed the Juba in force. In 1865 they went on to break the Tana Galla and by 1880 had turned on the Boran. Pagan peoples in this region were now being dominated by Muslims, and peasants by nomads from the north."

Image
From the 1917 Italian National Library, an entry about Marehan Customary Law (coding about treatment of captured slaves)
--A slave marries a slave girl. If she is a concubine of the owner,
the slave cannot marry her. [See note 6]-

[Note 6] Because the Marrehan, like other populations of southern
Somalia, sometimes had Galla slaves as concubines (suryad). For the
Migiurtini Somalis, on the other hand, it would be a dishonor to have
relations with a female slave notoriously. I think that must be attributed
to the origin of the slaves of the Migiurtini (Sawahili, thus people
inferior to the Somalis, besides a not very handsome appearance. The
Migiurtini consider it a dishonor to have a large and flat nose, which
may be a sign of kinship with slaves) in comparison with the origin
of the Marrehan slaves (Galla, and thus equal to the Somalis in degree
of civilization and in physical characteristics.

Young boy, Marehan not only being the longest rulers of Somali territory under Siad Barre as well as being prominently mentioned in the campaigns of the Imam Ahmed Gurey and Adal, are also a clan of the Darod, Somali people's historically most enfranchised clan (don't want to use "noble" as it carries lots of baggage) and within it are celebrated for civilizing and Islamizing large parts of East African territory. You would be appreciative never to address me again as an equal.

Only these people could have been the descendents of the Sheikh Abadir Musue Warwaajecle whose honor you grace a 150 years ago.

I'm sorry I just don't buy crap coming from Oromos. Look at the countless Argobbas, Somalis and who ever the hell else we have amongst us claiming noole, jarso etc....
I see jarso entirely as sucked up Somalis.

Let's do this let the 3 of us Aq take that test some people did on here a while ago and see if we have common ancestors.

lol this is spiraling out of control. Oromos are an ethnic group, and fulfill the criteria for an ethnic group. That case was finished a long time ago. Every major ethnic group had to undergo an expansion at some point. Expansion and assimilation go hand in hand. This was the case from the americas, to europe to asia etc. In order to study history you have to put aside your bias. That's why nationalists are the worst historians. Because they're intention to begin with is to support some preconceived notion whether it be that Imam Ahmad is from clan A, B or C. Or that they are a pure race and their enemies are all impure etc. For example I would get hanged on an Oromo nationalist forum for most of my posts for undermining Oromummaa and a long list of things. Because nationalists already have an idea of how things are supposed to be. They only mix up with "history" to gain some sort of ideological backing, rather than gaining real knowledge.

To put the whole shenanigans brought upon by that vagrant DjibSomal to rest, Marehan modern territory is because of the honor and glory of Marehan, who have been one of the most prominent Somali clans to move about East Africa in the pursuit of spreading Islam and fighting paganism as we had seen from their prominent role in the Futuh Al Habesha. Marehan are originally from the Darod homeland on the tip of Somali peninsula in the Red Sea and like Gurey said, in modern history hail from the territory of Nugaal, in the area of what is today Sool and southern Sanaag in Somaliland where their Darod kins the Dhulbahante and Warsangeli continue to live.

Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics by Hastings, sourcing French 18th century writer Gabriel Ferrand, saying Marehan are an important Sultanate controlling most of the Somali northern coast (the province from the Futah anyone?) on the Red Sea 400 years ago

Image

From Journal of the Royal Queen in 1843 highlighting the Marehan homeland in Nugaal

Image
Image

Then Marehan had moved to the West in present-day Ogaden

Image
Image

Then had moved to what is today central Somalia where remnants are still left in the Galgaduud region, but the principal area having been Gaalkacyo in the Mudug region

From Enrico Cerruli, famed Italian explorer of Somalia

Image
Image

From where Cerruli left off, the Marehan were continuously sending warriors to fight the British occupation in the NFD/Jubbaland and we are left with these British records which consistently show the Marehan to be migrating newcomers to the land in British East Africa

Image

Image

Image

It is beneath my dignity as a Somali and particularly as a Sade Marehan of the Darod Jaberti to respond to a representative of one of the single most worthless ethnic groups in the world but rest assured this is more for putting in the record then responding to you, as Oromo.
