funny thing is that the exotic garre also claim a northern origin, sanaag in this case.

and the garre example is a more recent case of assimilation...

they spent 200 years under the rule of borana and their langauge today is a dialect of boran even though they have somali geneology
The Garre language is related to Af-Maymay and represents an ancient contium of South Somali languages until Northerners like the Marehan and Ogaden brought Maxa Tiri (originally North Somali) to those exotic lands. :D

No my friend. The issue is you cant have a discussion with an angry tribal lunatic like yourself. I'm pretty sure I've seen you on other forums and you have real self esteem issues. You need to stop bragging about your tribe and belittling people to make yourself feel better. This advice is probably going to fly over your head, but I felt like I should say it anyways. May Allah guide you.
Aliyi I would have taken you at face value had you legitimized your indignation by being non-partisan. You are Oromo. You attacked the Somali in the debate between an Oromo and a Somali and did not send out a phrase of keeping civility to the Oromo whom might I add was the first to insult my people. It seems then you have no moral superiority but are only bothered by the rhetoric directed towards the Oromo. a response which might I add I hardly care about.

I also do not contribute in any other East African forum and may Allah guide you for attempting hypocritical arbitration. ;)

Mckuus, hayyee bro!

My question is why would a conquerer leave the belessed lush lands of hararge conquers, shitty desert , stuck up there and gets pride by claiming Harer?

B.
maybe it was to escape war , or the borg ..

gurgura made the wrong decision and migrated westwards instead of the shitty desert like you mentioned..

they still got surrounded by the oromo a couple of decades later in Dire dawa.
The borg must have been fearsome!
InshAllah Midgan and Lo'jir will be oromo at the end of this century 8-)

On serious note, I dont really believe in massive population migrating, but only identities changing!

How do you explain that their dialect/language is much closer to someone in Hargeisa or Garowe than to their neighbors?

Those of the Marehan. They speak North Somali, while their exotic neighbors speak unintelligible dialects.

Honestly I dont know the southern somali tribes, I never interacted with them. For that matter, I dont really know southern oromos either.
I have no opinion on this tribes somali accent.

I was refering to the guy, only because he claimed Harar, Imaam Ahmed and above all ABADIR!
He can even claim all the three without insulting and disowning the current habitants of Hararge, I wouldnt have cared!

I know nthg about them, but thanks to Snet I get to know one of their most bombastic member.

It's not about claiming moral superiority, you see it that way because all of your thinking is in terms of superiority and inferiority. Which is why you always have to put people down. When you mentioned the bantu in this thread you had to mention that "you civilized them". When you mention Oromos, you had to mention that you took some Oromo captives in south somalia 150 years ago. When you mention Harar, you have to mention that it was ruled by your tribe, and the current inhabitants are nobodies. I'm sure this kind of thinking extends to your everyday life. You're in a constant state of competition to prove something to others, and probably to yourself too. I'm letting you know it's okay to just be yourself, and let others be without trying to virtually conquer them and unleash all your screenshots at every opportunity.
