The "prominent" Imam you defer to like a dog his master is the one praying for the people who have brought death destruction and misery in Somalia. He deserves the same torture that he is praying for Al Shabab to continue inflicting in Somalia.

Why can't you give him the benefit of the doubt and consider the possibility that his intentions are pure and his heart's in the right place since he's a devoted man of faith? The Muslims are divided into different sects. Each sects having some sort of animosity towards the other. The Al-Shabaab hate the Ahul Sunnah Wal Jamaaca. Now, if Union is against the Al-Shabaab, due to their extremist ideology, does that mean he has left Islam? Of course, not.

The sheikh at my mosque makes many prays for somalia to get peace etc, he never mentions any group. He is salafi.

I don't know the intentions of this shiekh if they are good or bad but What a random sheikh says does not change the situation. The sheikh is not as well informed as us and neither does he have relatives in Somalia which are affected by al shabab brutal and un-Islamic ways. Majority of the Somali uluma are agianst al-shabab
