You're right, but i thought for a moment, you believed that all the rapture he is receiving is deserved. He is a figurehead, just like GWB. No one seriously gives GWB props for the success of the surge in Iraq.

The surge in Iraq would not have worked with out the use of local militias to go after Al Qaida in Iraq. In fact, it would have just made things worse. The Americans are simply copying and pasting their COINT tactics from Iraq to Afghanistan and Somalia.in Somalia, they are training I believe 2000 troops for Abdi Shukri in Hobyo, the ASWJ in Xamar and Sharif's Special Forces. It seeks to be working in Somalia but not in Afghanistan.

I understood your point. GWB wasn't a figure-head, he was ideologically driven and had real policy plans long before he came to the office. He implemented them aggressively and despite strong democratic opposition. But the prevailing misconception is that he was weak, when in fact he was one of the strongest leaders in modern times.

Care to provide any sources? I've read and watched quite a long of things, which indicate quite the opposite. The back story behind the Patriot Act being one of them.
