I'll stay with my bantu brothers and sisters. The arabs call me abid, and I have to call them "yes master" or else put in prison.

Excluding the Kenyan bantus/swahilis, there's practically no real connection between true blacks and somalis.

This poll is misconstrued. Of course, the Arabs donated more than the Africans because they have much more to give. Black Africa is the poorest region in the world, so one can't expect them to compete with the Arabs penny for penny. As I never tire to say, it's the thought that ultimately counts; the Ghanian brother that attempted to collect a modest 500 bucks for his Somali brothers and sisters in my book scores much higher than the billionaire Arab that donates 5000 bucks to Somali drought victims.

Besides, as Union said, hundreds of Black Africans have died attempting to bring stability and peace to Somalia fighting against religious radicals inspired by Arab ideology, financed with Arab money and tactically guided by Arab commanders.

This whole poll is a kid's work. Doesn't really deserve much thought, but the record needs to be set straight

Anyone who sees the average joe and the youth and children in Oman,Dubai,Saudi Arabia, Cairo and even Ghaza donating their lunch money, savings and blankets will know who are his true brothers,African brotherhood is a fluffy lie.Islam is unbreakable bond. There is simply no comparison.

stop bullshitting , i can see that you have never lived in an arab country..
It is very rare for somalis to be called these names, and it usually ends up really bad with both people dead, in hospital for critical injuries and ofcourse jailtime.

this started in the 70's when the somalis first moved to the gulf, since people were not used to somalis allot of people stepped out of line.. and the somalis of our fathers generation were real somalis, the war, famines and chaos has made us lose some of our somaliness..
These encounters usually ended very badly for those that insulted somalis, gulf arabs quickly realized that somalis are "special" and somalis actually believe themselves to be superior to the arabs...

100% of gulf arabs get us, they understand and know somalis, you will only get this behaviour from palestinians and Lebanese
and their excuse is that the majority have never come across a somali.

Somalis in syria were and are treated with respect, in Iraq under saddam rule, somalis were favoured, you got free university and schooling, free healthcare and even subsidized government housing, why because the government said that we are guests and guests should be treated very well..

The entire gulf knows somalis very well and you will never hear cabd from their mouths..

Ask hyper if you dont believe me, and i have grown up in the emirates and i spent the first 18 years of my life and i have never encountered a hint of racism from arabs..

Except for the Bantus in Kenya iyo Tanzania, we have nothing else in common with the rest of the Bantu dominant sub-Saharan African continent.

The only Africans we are close to ethnically, culturally, appearance etc. are the Ethiopians. The rest only thing we have in common is our black skin.

Regardless, due to our location we'll always have a connection to the ME and a connection to mainland Afrika. We should embrace both and.respect both,

I am a Black African Somali Muslim. :D

Fluffy as a pillow wallahi. No one was more of a pan-Africanist than I but I realize pan-Africanism really means nothing. Union and others talk about Uganda, which is mostly in Somalia for political reasons (the Ugandan troops are expendable to Museveni, who cultivated a strategic tactic to strengthen his rule in Uganda shutting out foreign criticism and also getting more money by donating some troops to Somalia) and the fact that some Somalis get deported from Saudi Arabia which I have been told are literally petty criminals for the most part and Saudi Arabia does not want them in their land if they have conducted themselves in such a manner. One of my good forum friends from here whose name I will keep private actually lived in Saudi Arabia for a bit the past couple years and he talks the respectably about how the Saudis welcome the massive number of Somali immigrants who have flooded some cities such as Jeddah.

Let us remember that Africa's two largest black economies, South Africa and Nigeria have donated each one million to 12 million people starving in the African continent while a 30 years married mother in Turkey saw fit to sell her wedding ring and heirloom to donate for her hungry "Muslim sisters".

The situation is crystal clear for most Somalis. It is the so-called "secular/agnostic" camp that have for the most part seem to be giving dissenting commentary in this topic. No surprise there, oh no the big bad "Muslim" card. Oppositely Somalis who have actually grown up in the Muslim Mid-East such as you in Syria and Gurey in UAE/Saudi give the most supporting commentary. The situation is crystal clear.

ramadan helps too.

nearly every television station has a somali charity drive, and there are always numbers scrolling down the screen with instruction for sending money to somalia..
and every mall has a stand where you can send money.

The Somalis who comment on Arab bigotry towards Africans have no room to talk. Somalis are one of the biggest racists in this part of the world. Our attitude and treatment towards the Somali Bantus is disgraceful. Our attitude and comments towards other Africans is embarrassing. I can guarantee you if Somaliya was nabad, Bantu immigrants will receive more racism than any Somali will ever receive in Carabta. This is an undeniable fact.

Pan Africanism is a myth. The only thing that matters is the bond of Islam.

Well said.. I have also lived in Saudi and i can tell you the only difference between Arab countries and Africa is the somalis in most African countries are in position of advantage, they have money and businesses there. Workers are cheap in most African countries so you have this image of polite African while in most Arab countries the Arabs have money and dont really need to be working for Somalis. whatever arabs do is out of muslim brotherhood while in Africa is either due to profits or politics. Uganda is there for a reason but what does Saudi get from Somalis? zero...

Lets also not forget about all the killings of Somalis in South Africa. I rather Somalis be deported than them being burned alive in their own shops. Uganda has killed more Somali civilians than probably all arab countries put together.
