january 2012, I feel a new government will be born, Alshabaab will be eradicated. It will coincide with 21 years Barre ruled and the 21 year civil war. 1991-2012.
2012 the Mayan end of the world will be the beginning of a new one for Somalis.

I'm always optimistic, but this meeting won't change Somalia. It will only be beneficial to hotel owners, taxi drivers, shops and restraurants. Somalia doesn't need peace conference it needs critical managment and planning of the constitution and all Somalis need to take part including Somaliland. We need clean and ready framework for the new permanent govt. No more transition.

I like how the president and speaker of parliament are shuttling Faroole around like he's some kind of celeb, they're totally ignoring the other parties.

It is not gonna change a lot because Alshabaab supporters and others are absent. But this conference will at least prove one thing: Xamar is once again save enough for Pan-Somali gathering.

A summit of tribalists. It will never work!

We know the outcome; the gospel of 4,5 formulae will be sung, the fake jihadist, frequent flyer sheikh sheydhan will consolidate his power. The lalalalands will be cemented.
