Somaliland is more of a country than Somalia and has been so since the early 90's.

Siyaad Barre was from 'ethiopia'Are Somali Kenyans and Ethiopians allowed to be president

There is no law when it comes to Somaliland but the others there is? thanks. Are Somali Kenyans and Ethiopians allowed to be president or political member in somalia? or a guy from Djibouti or if somaliland became a country and a man from there was ooh am Somali and i want to be president would he be told no? another question is are these people allowed to havepassports?
Since the Somali republic became an independent country in 1960 there has never been a president from Somaliland till the day of today , and now when Somaliland is an independent state i don't even think there will be ever a president from Somaliland,,![]()
I don't think a president from Djibouti or from NFD or from the Somali region of Ethiopia can become president of Somalia, and i dont think they are allowed either.

Now this is news to meSiyaad Barre was from 'ethiopia'Are Somali Kenyans and Ethiopians allowed to be president

Yeah, the guy overcame many obstacles: He was born in an occupied land, lost his dad at young age, so he was raised by his mom in poverty, became major-general and then President for 21 years. You have to admire that

I reckon Somalilanders might feel like all their hard work for recognition was for naught if they allowed a Mareexaan, for example, to be the president of Somaliland. Probably wouldn't matter if the guy was born and raised in Hargeisa.
In the south a heck of a lot of Somalis have dual citizenship so the future in terms of foreign policy will be very interesting.

So all have the rights thenGreenday there is no law either from the other countries all one has to be is A Somali to become part of the Somali political government,, They are all Somali speaking People and all the Clans that live in Kenya also live in Somalia the Clans that live Ethiopia also live in Somaliland Djibouti etc , so where do you stop for who do you make the rules.

Dont you think this will change over time?![]()

in Somaliland things are different only a group of Clans can become leaders of the nation those that are the natives of Somaliland you have to be A Somaliland native , being born in Somaliland does not make you a Somalilander,, if a Somaliland woman marries a non Somalilander she will lose her citizenship. How ever a person born in Djibouti can become president of Somaliland since his people also live in Somaliland and are citizens of Somaliland , for instance daahir rayaale kahin was born in Ethiopia and became the president of Somaliland
How?if a Somaliland woman marries a non Somalilander she will lose her citizenship
