All thnx to that European man that came to the States during the slavery...forgot his name. Something leech (The leech letter) lool I read it but forgot the tittle and the author. Anyways, that man came up with a plan to control the black man's mind and behavior for 300 years (dating from Slavery)....so it worked...its because of White men that they act this way!

Maybe it has nothing to do with it being a phase to go through, maybe its just a way of life to act certain way. I know some other negroes who refuse to grow out of going to the nearest mafrish, sitting and chewing grass from their teen years to their deathbed.

The behavior of the African American Male can be explained if one looks at the opposing behavior of the culture that has dominated them for 400 years. On closer observatoins, It becomes clear that the upfront arrogant swagger with which some of our African brothers display can be explained as a form of resistance and a desire to stand apart from the cultural standards of the caucasian race they live with.

One of the ways persecuted groups deal with their tormentors, is to either cosy upto them by coping their cultural lifestyles, behavior, in an attempt to get back at them and beat them at their own game. A more common from of resistance is when such group adopts a cultural behavior alien to the majority, so as to set themselves apart as well as divorce themselves of any sign or behavior that may link them to the dominant group. In this way It's as if the black men in his calculations, have equated the speaking of "american english", and what is termed "standard" business attire with the cultural behavior of the white majority.

One of the fascinating things that has been ocurring in the U.S. has been the ever increasing number of African American Males in U.S. prisons embracing Islam. This could itself be explained along the lines of trying to set a new paradigm, wereby by this act they are taking on faith they feel will not only heal their illments but also has the added benefit of having a history of confronting the white/european religion which they despise so very much.
