It seems law and order is breaking down,there is looting and a lot of people are armed to the teeth,where do you think all this is leading to,wha's wrong with the poor blacks why some people among them are raping and intimidating in a time of disaster.

Fortunately this is a regional disaster. As is often the case in situations like this, there is a period of lawlessness and security institutions break down. This isn't a poor black phenomenon. This is a human phenomenon.

The rest of the security and civil institutions throughout the country are intact. So we can assume that law and order will be restored fairly rapidly. What is going to take a lot longer is establishing the infratructure that will enable reconstruction. That is likely to take months.

OK here is what I don't get. If all of you hate America so much, why do so many of you live here? Why not move to someplace you would rather be, like Somalia or Yemen or something?

Most somalis here live in the UK, Canada, other parts of europe and australia...few like moi live in america!

OK, so why do you live in the US?

And I'll tell you why I am moving to Thailand. My wife wants to be close to her family and it's cheap. I can live in the Northeast and not ever have to work again. Which means I will have time to work on things I want to work on. The US is OK (honestly, I prefer central Europe) but it's too expensive.

I love the U.S..it has good education (grants and scholarships) and the welfare system and food stamps are just to die for...Lord..i just love mooching off the government.. Laughing
