The great phantom oil scam

Postby TheLoFather » Fri Oct 07, 2011 9:13 am

Do people on somalinet think that there is something fishy that is going on in the oil exploration in the horn of Africa?

Do you think the authorities in the horn of Africa (i.e. tfg, puntland and somaliland ) are involved in scams similar to that of the Goldenberg scam in kenya?, where the kenyan government created export subsidy scam and passed it into Law. Anyone who could show they had manufactured gold and diamonds would receive 35% export subsidy of the estmated value. This sounded fine but there was a problem, apart from some freelance gold and diamonds smuggled form the Congo, Kenya had no gold or damonds.(search for the goldenberg scam in your search engine for more info).

So do you thnk the somalis are perpatrating similar scam except this time it is with 'OIL'?

They don't understand it properly.

CIA world fact book says:
Somalia 0 bbl (1 January 2011 est.)
link: https://www.cia.gov/library/publication ... /2178.html

But we can agree that will change because of the recent exploration by the two companies. They believe there can be in the region of 2.4 billion barrels of Oil in Puntland.

Saudia Arabia produces that much in 6 months. Annually they average 4 billion barrels.

So is there something else there for these corporations to benefit from?

Either way nobody can look at this logically because everyone is blinded by qabiil.

So kudos Puntland.

The word PC Volunteers got in the Sixties was that Somalia had some gas but very little oil. This may or may not be at odds with this article:

Honestly, the available information is confusing. :?

There are indications that there is oil in northern Somalia. However, these companies in cahoots with sl/pl politicos are involved in a scam.
