My parents never ever called each other gay shit like "macaanto" iyo "macaan" just their first name.
When you get married right, would you let your wife call you baby and sweety in front of other ppl?

I would, but I'd tell her not to say that shit in front of my father and my two grandparents, they would think she's stupid.

One can show affection in private.

First months of marriage; walaal, inadeer, inabti, macaaney, xayaati, pet names blablabla
After a few months of marriage; you call her by her first name
A year into the marriage; naayaa, islaanyahay
A few years; Cajuuso
