A member of the Somali parliament has been targeted by a bomb blast in Mogadishu, losing a leg in the incident near Banadir hospital.
“The bomb targeted the vehicle of the legislator as he was going to his home near the Banadir Hospital in Mogadishu; he lost his leg and passersby were injured," Abdi Nor Mahmud, a shopkeeper who witnessed the blast, told Somalia Report.
The government is yet to issue a comment on the incident, while no group has claimed responsibility.
Al-Shabaab are the chief suspects, and if confirmed it will be their second successful bomb attack in the last two weeks, following on from a suicide blast that killed over 100.
