Khadija Daleys was a brave woman, she broke the stigma of woman being treated badly regarding music and media. She was the first woman to sing in public and was the first woman to give freedom to the woman of Somalia. She played a big role in gender equality in Somalia, but also she has shown the reer Baadiyo Somalis that females can have freedom. Her father and her family supported her, as she comes from a intellectual relatives. God bless her

She must be a warrior  Brave woman walle
Somalia's first female singer, Daleys was born in 1936 in Baidoa, in south-central Somalia, and discovered her vocal talent at school.

"A woman singing was considered shameful," she says in Somali, with local music promoter Kawmayn Hussein translating. "There were demonstrations. I got pressure from my neighbours, my family. But my father told them, 'Let her sing.' "

At 16, she started singing at Radio Mogadishu, in the capital, and four years later dared to make a stage appearance at Cinema Hamar.

"After that, people accepted me and other female singers followed."

Daleys became the country's top female star. "She sang at half-time at our games," recalls Antar, 56, one of Somalia's top soccer stars throughout the 1970s.

The Africa Cup victory came against Burundi in 1973. Antar and his family moved to Toronto in 1989. Antar drives his own taxi and helps organize Toronto's annual international Somali Week Soccer Tournament.

Khadiijo Cabdullaahi Cali oo ku magac dheer (Daleys), waxey ku dhalatay Magaalada Baydhabo ee Gobolka Baay, waxey ka gashay Magaalada dugsi Qur’aan, markay 9-jirsatayna waxey u soo ambabaxday magaalada Muqdisho, iyadoo halkaas ka gashay Iskuul.Muddo yar ka dib waxey bilowday in ay ardayda dhexdeeda heeso ka qaaddo, marka macallinku ku maqan yahay dibadda iyo marka aydaydu u yara baxdo quraacda, iyadoo durbaan ka dhiganeysa miiska la saarto buugaagta ee fasalka yaalla, waxay markii dambe u gudubtay in ay dugsiga u heesto.

Dugsigaasi wuxuu ku yiillay, meesha hadda uu ka dhisan yahay matxafka Qaranka, kana soo horjeedda taallada Xaawa Taako.

Heesaha ay ka qaadi jirtay dugsiga waxay ahaayeen heeso waddani ah, waxaana qaban qaabinayey dhinaca fanka ee dugsigaas Leegadii SYL, oo dugsigaasi laheyd, gaar ahaan nin la oran jiray Max’ed Axmed (Ottavio), oo ka mid ahaa naftood hurayaashii SYL.

Sannadkii 1952-kii, ayaa wargeyskii la odhan jiray, (Corriere Della Somalia) lagu soo qoray ogeysiis lagu doonayo gabar heesta oo ay u baahan tahay idaacadda Muqdisho.

Maalintii dambe ayaa waxey tagtay idaacadda, waxayna kula kulantay nin gabyaa ahaa oo la odhan jiray Mishigaan, Alle ha u naxariistee, kana mid ahaa horseedkii SYL.

Waxey ka wareysatay waxa la rabo iyo waxa la doonayo, kaddib, waxaa loo geeyey nin Talyaani ah oo idaacadda madax ka ahaa, wax fannaan muusik ah, waxaa markaasi joogay idaacadda 2-nin oo la kala yiraahdo Xuseen Sheekh Juma (Xuseen Baajuuni) Alle ha u naxariistee, iyo Max’ed Saciid (Giicow), labadaasi nin midna Kaman ayuu tumayey midka kalena (Violino).

“Waxaa la yiqiinay Aabahey Cabdullaahi Cali oo ku magac dheeraa (Cammey) … Isla markiiba waxey garteen inaan ahay gabadhii yareyd ee ka heeseysay Naadiga SYL … markiiba waxaa la iga qabtay hees … kaddib markii la iga qaaday imtixaanka” ayey tiri Daleys mar ay taariikhdaasi ka sheekeyneysay.

Taariikhdu markay ahayd 14/2/1952-kii, saacaddu mar ay aheyd abbaarihii Duhurkii, waxaa Raadiyo Muqdisho laga soo daayey heestii fannaanada laga duubay.

Maalintii ku xigtay oo aheyd maalin Jimce ah, 15-kii Februay, laba Masaajid oo ah kuwa ugu waaweyn magaalada Muqdisho, oo kala ah, Masaajidka Sheekh Cabdulqaadir iyo Masaajidka Sh. Isla mar ahaantaana waxey u tageen xafiisyadii laga xukumayey idaacadda iyo xukuumaddii Talyaaniga ee waayagaasi waddanka heysatay, waxeyna u sheegeen in aaney gabar Soomaaliyeed la dooneyn iney fanka ka qeybgasho.

Waxa kale oo ay u tageen Cabdullaahi Cali Cammey, waxaana looga yeeray xaruntii SYL si uu gabadhiisa uga joojiyo fanka.

Cabdullaahi Cali oo ahaa Daleys Aabaheed, markii uu doodda dhageystay, wuxuu sheegay in gabadhiisu ay fanka qeyb qaadan karto, isatoo tusaale ugu soo qaatay, fannaanaddii weyneyd ee reer Masar, ee lagu magacaabi jiray, Ummal-Kaltuum, iney tahay gabadh Muslim ah, ka qeybgalka fankana uusan waxba u dhimin diinteeda iyo dhaqankeeda.

Wixii ka dambeeyey xiligaasi, Khadiija Cabdullaahi Dalays, waxey si fiican u sii wadatay fankii, waxeyna gaartay iney hadda la heesto, fannaaniin ay ugu toosnaan karto Ayeeyo, taasoo ah wax lagu faani karo.

Waxey ka mid tahay halgamayaashii Xornimadoonka ummadda Soomaaliyeed, waana hooyadii fanka gobollada Koonfureed ee dalka, hadda waxey ka mid tahay fannaaniinta Qaranka ee Hobolada Waaberi, waxeyna ku nooshahay tan iyo markii ay qarxeen dagaalada Sokeeye Qurabaha.

Hoboladda Khadiija C/llaahi Daleys sida la wariyey waxey jacel daran u qaadday nin sarkaal sare ka ahaa ciidankii xoogga dalka Soomaaliyeed, xilligiisiina ahaa nin Xiin-finiin ah, oo aad iyo aad magaciisa fagaaraha u yaallay, ninkaasoo ahaa Salaad Gabeyre, jaceyl daran dabadii, waxey u tirisay maansadan, waxey tiri:

Inkastood Hanadow Hawiye tahay,

Inkastoo waalidkaa waambaha culo,

Inkastoo waddankaagu Warsheekh yahay,

Inkastoo walaallkaa wabey biyaha yidhi,

Inkastood Wardhiigley ka wacan tahay,

Sidii waran baad wadnaha ku dhacdee,

Miyaan kaa waaban karayaa.

Jaceylkaasi muusan xumaanin, sida la sheego way is guursadeen, oo Khadiijo Cabdullaahi Daleys waxey noqotay xaaskii Salaad Gabeyre.

Afcourse, Mareexaan are always first at everything. Let it be flying a plane or being the longest rulers. Get the drift? :|

Anyways this thread is not about qabil, appreciate the woman that gave the Somali femal confidence, if it wasn't for her the iidoor females singers wouldn't be singing today.

BV Walle I like Ximan, I don't agree with most things he says, but, with him what you see is what you get. I can't say the same for others, who are wolfs but claim to be harmless sheep. If you get my drift..

Ximan forgive my ignorance. I am after all a peasant iidoor..

Khalid you can be so thick some times. You need to sharpen up and read between the lines.
What my main man Ximanjaale is saying is her singing is secondary but what is more important is that she hails from a great tribe and for the reason this thread is dedicated to her. Simple
Furthermore, if you know any more people who were are important to add to the list please do so. It would save time and energy for our good friend Ximan who does not sleep at night because of all the bullets and rockets going of and the snoring of the Ugandan soldier next to him.

Nabeela don't worry if Ximan does not dedicate a thread to you soon. I will shoot you see if that helps quicken the process.. :D
