I've noticed that as well. If you look at where in the world we are located, you'll find that along with the Arabian peninsula we are in the middle of the world Longitudinal-wise. If you look at it Latitudinal-wise we are at the centre of the world (Near the equator). So essentially we are at the centre of the centre of the world. The Red-sea/Indian ocean route is one of the busiest if not busiest transport route in the world. And instead of taking advantage of our unique position we are killing eachother over pointless sh!t and getting gangraped by xabashis and fufus. ♫Soomaliya Seexooy...♫:down:I don't believe that anyone who is honest with themselves can believe that America and Western Europe will return to their former Economic status and health. It will be a continued decline and stagnation dispersed with small amounts of growth. What I mean is that for the unskilled and low skilled labor worker they are a dying bread, now that we live in the world of small companies making huge profits. The only thing the west has over developing countries such as China, Brazil,India, the three largest players outside of Europe and America, is their Education and Technology. Yet, this won't save them from a disenfranchised and unemployed majority of non educated unskilled workers. When firm of 200- 3000 can generate billions of dollars of revenue, what will be left to trickle down?
The east and the southern western Hemisphere are the up and coming countries where there is money to be made, all you need to do is understand their needs and provide them with the technology. Especially computer and software technology is what is needed, as they become more and more advanced, and the opportunities are endless.
Africa is perfectly positioned to reap the benefits, if only it would get it's act together. It has the resources and the potential to grow and develop it's own markets. And Somalia is strategically located to be a major player, where it has the coastline, and the diaspora who can connect and develop to be involved in every major company that is in Africa.
Europe and America are like the old who are slow to move even if their mind is the most experience and quick. Africa is the kid who has the potential but just was unlucky, and China India Brazil are the young in their 20's ready to take over the world.
Its sad when u see ur ppk doing this in somalia, but u realize they can't conceptualize anything better they did grow up in "aqal somali" and hearded animals. But when you daispora with same mentality it leaves you scratching your head.If Somalia was a poper country today, we could have been part of the "rise of the east". But alas, we are still squabbling over patches dirt and shanty-towns we call "cities".

My thoughts exactly.Yep. We are in the middle of a shift in economic power from West to East.
Like you said Africa is in position to to come up as well. Africa has human capital and a high birth rate while the west has an ageing pop and a low birth rate (which is why they tolerate immigration). Africa is like a virgin ....undeveloped markets and lots of resources while europe is a mature market or an old hag lol.
However the west is brilliant at hustling. Through the presence of their multinationals and expertise it is always an unfair fight. What is the point of having untapped mines if RioTinto simply comes in and gobbles it up? An African country may, for example, have a growing middle class but it will be Walmart (South Africa) or Carrefour (Morocco) which reapes their disposable income. Since it is our time to reign, shouldn't we have companies from emerging markets dominating?
African countries are not managed well. The IMF effs them over by making loans subject to liberalisation of markets.
As for Somalia, I read somewhere that nearly half the population is under the age of 18. Add to this a huge diaspora with an increased technical know-how, lots of resources and small population and the potential is huge.
Ulterior for president?
