To become a good practicing Muslim, you have to become an Arab.

The exhortation to learn Arabic "for the sake of Islam" is really a ruse to further Arabisation of Somalis which is really a form of colonialism. These sick Saudi slaves like Grandpa wanna destroy the remaining vestiges of Somalinimo - namely our ancient and rich language (do you guys know that Somali was probably the ONLY Black African language used in the entire education system from grade 1 to University?).

Nothing is more revolting than Somalis who think and behave as if we have no history, customs, traditions, language worth protecting and preserving for posterity.

Learning Arabic to learn more about Islam is of course something every Somali should strive for. But this is different from replacing your background and language.

Didn't you open a thread allowing others to get in touch with a certain anti-Islamic, atheist-turned member?

(do you guys know that Somali was probably the ONLY Black African language used in the entire education system from grade 1 to University?)
Not true. Higher education, especially at university level, was taught in either or a combination of English, Italian and Arabic. At some schools, such as Jamal Abdel Naser, it was exclusively taught in Arabic. Besides, there are other sub-Saharan countries, such as Ethiopia, where education is taught in the local language. Additionally, before 1972, Somali was unwritten language, and only English, Italian and Arabic were taught at schools.
