Sorry TZ...I'm little slow these days...it's the wife and the kids. They're all yelling at the same time. I think it's time for me to get a second wife.

Basra...would you do me the honor and become my fat lovely wife? I promise to feed you for the rest of your life.

Dhaga
I hasten to point out that long before the advent of white people Somalis had no political unity whatsoever. When the Portuguese first stumbled upon Mogadischu 500 years ago, they found the then tiny city already riven into warring clan factions. Somalia was NEVER a nation-state before the colonial experience.

If war breaks out in Ethiopia, the Ogaden will be consumed. On top of the external factors, the ONLF and AIAI (which now cooperate) will fall upon each other just like the Sons of Hirab did in 1992 in Mogadischu. If you don't think so, you are fooling yourself.

Rubish I don't think Ethiopia have any self intrest in Somalia, but they feel the pain for us how we are killing ourselves destroyed our country and have bandits roaming the streets of the capital, the fact of the mater is have We got any pride left, the answer is no,if we can not solve our own problems, let us give the chance for some one else to do it for us,or if we don't want a country called somalia to exist in the world map,let us give it toa people who are more worthy, after all some people in the world today need a save invironment for all the disasters in the world like the Americans, the Sunami hit countries or even the Isaraelis.

I can't say I agree. I do think the Ethiopians have an interest in Somalia. They share a large mutual border. Ethiopa wants a Somali government, but it wants one which harbors no irredentist claims on the Ogaden.

Mad mac..im here.......i beg to differ with you in this...No doubt ethiopia have an ineterest in Somalia..which is to furhter destabilised it making sure peace never prevail...and the fact they continued to medling in Somalia's internal affairs in negative manner not conducive in aiding the establishment of peace...is clearly testment to ethiopia's ambition to stiffle any posibility of nationhood in Somalia...

I hope..im wrong in my assesment...but majority of Somalis share this with me

How did I miss this thread:

Gobdoon, Ethiopia, always would like to interfere and wants Somalis to have a government that works for their interests and whatever they want from Somalia. This will never come true, even thou, some of Somali warlords are good friend with Ethiopia. It was 3 months ago when one of Mogadishu based warlords admitted that Ethiopia used to assist weapons in order to gain his political aspects. There is no need to ignore the reality; Ethiopians always shows their support to anyone who they think will bow for them and we all know that the only reason they do this is incase we don’t claim or waged a war over Zone five or support ONLF as Siyad Bare used to do.

By the way, what I don’t understand is why Somalis who live in Ethiopia want to rebel against the government. Somalis are not the only Muslim societies who live in Ethiopia. There are Millions and they all try to build their country and get a visible position in the society they live in. I believe ONLF need to give up and start sharing the power with Ethiopians. This will help them and will also help their own community (Somalis) who live the area they control. We all know that Zone five is the least undeveloped zones in Ethiopia when it comes to infrastructure and communication.

Interesting topic. Oppression is somtimes assumed but not actual. And there are times when you are better to just let an injustice go by, than over react and perpetuate it.

Responces must be measured, or you end up with a worse situation.

I was screwing off this weekend. Did a lot of dancing.

Anyway, in practical terms, I do believe Ethiopia would like a politically stable Somalia because the Ethiopians don't like the resource drain that is associated with refugee movements that come with the civil unrest. However, they only want a Somali government that is not going to challenge their ascendancy in the Ogaden.
