No they're not man. Ethiopia is about 40% Oromo, 25% Amharic, somewhere between 7-10% Tigre, and some 6% are Somali and another 6% Afar. After that there's a host of smaller grops such as the Anuak and the Harrari.

although represent 40% of the entire population, it doesn't imply that they are not capable of fighting the current regime..

IFLO is a JOKE. Tiny organization, poorly organized, almost non-existent. OLF represent the Oromos. Unfortunately, for the Oromo, they are divided much like the Somalis are, and are very vulnerable to divide and conquor for this reason. The Highlanders are masters of this technigue, so nothing appears to be changing soon.

I do agree that there should be resistance to the current Ethiopian institutions, but that resistance should be peaceful, not violent. If the government institutions completely fall apart, and civil war ensues, it will be a horrific bloodbath.

jsut like you i hope any resistance against Males Zenawi is of peacefully nature...but im afraid at the moment that is wishfull thinking there is no sign that a peaceful apprise similar to the seen in Ukraine will ever materialise...

Do not expect anything from the Oromos,
the tigray who are a mere 5th the size of the oromo population
can put several times the number of troops more than the OLF on the field.
Oromos are as if not more disorganized than the somalis.

Gurey, yes and no. The Tigres can not put more Tigres in the field, but they control the Army and that's what matters. Furthermore, they have a deep seated military culture that the Oromos lack.
